GlOgGiNg GlOgGiNg EvErYwHeRe

I know I have already posted about Glogster edu, but I can't sing it's praises enough!  I love to create glogs to teach from, I love to have students create individual glogs, and I love to have students collaborate and create glogs.  My question for you is have you ever used it (if not go do it now please), if so how did you use it?  I would love to hear from you!  Often technology can be a little bit intimidating, but please trust me on this one it will be worth it!!

The blog that I love that has LOTS more followers is "Heather's Heart"!  

Heather's blog is full of wonderful ideas, an interesting story about "Hoovers" (hint we all have them!) and is just overall INSPIRING~~ I {PUFFY} HEART IT!

The blog with about the same number of followers is "Young Thinkers, BIG Ideas" .  This blog is full of great ideas about being an innovative teacher and creating students who are innovative thinkers!  Check it out!

Have you ever used GlOgStEr

I am a huge fan of Glogster EDU!  I have used it in every subject in my classroom.  It works great at the beginning of the year to have students create a glog to introduce themselves, to glog about a book, to glog about problem solving, and/or to glog about historical events or science experiments   It is a truly authentic way to assess what students know and understand.  In my Teachers Pay Teachers store I have just recently posted a checklist and rubric that students use in conjunction with glogster in my classroom. EvErYoNe NeEdS a LiTtLe LoVe SoMeTiMeS!

As I was busy being excited about my newest follower I went to check out her blog.  Awesome is all I can say!  It is unbelievable how much she has to share and how much the first post I read on her blog touched my heart so much I had to post about it.  My "newest follower" Heather from "Heather's Heart" shared an amazing you-tube video about the heart of a teacher.  All of us have our share of bad days, all of us have our share of accomplishment, but few of us slow down to actually think about what we do each day!  I have the video below it is short and sweet, but says so much!  Check it out along with Heather's blog.  Her button is below!  Amazing!

Just what I NeEdEd!!

I couldn't believe it!  I was going through my RSS feeder and reading different post when I came across a blog called "I Teach. What's your superpower".  I loved the name so I cruised around her blog for a bit.  Little did I know I would find JUST WHAT I NEEDED here!  You all know I'm new to the blogging world and all the ins and outs of it are quite confusing to me!  In this blog I found all the answers!  "I Teach. What's your superpower" has a page called "Blog Baby Blog" and here is the best part...she has broken down all the ways to change, add, create your blog.  I have added quite a few things with success because it is so easy to understand and follow.  If you or your blog is in need of a little TLC head on over and check out her post!  Click her button below!

5 ThInGs I CANNOT live without in my classroom

Just reflecting on my crazy day and looking for some thankfulness around the classroom!

5 MUST HAVES

1.  Exacto pencil sharpener
2.  Blue kidney table (it catches everything' but where would I put everything without my blue table LOL)
3.  My activ-board...makes my life and teaching a bit more interesting!1
4.  My cool reading spot chairs...love when it is a reward for a student to get to read in a comfy chair!
5.  Surround sound Mic...really made a difference in my voice effort.

New Favorite!!

Voki.com has become my knew favorite to use in the classroom! if you haven't heard of voki or know but haven't utilized...then this post its for you! In short voki is a taking avatar. At first I began by actually having the voki to give morning announcement and reminders to my class first thing in the morning. (kids LOVED it) Then I transitioned into making it introduce me at a presentation for student teachers that I did. Once again a hit. Then I wanted to really have my students use it. I created a rubric and gave my students the ropes. They came through with flying colors! It was a wonderful way to integrate the common core and technology into the classroom. I have posted my rubric along with student friendly directions in my teachers pay teachers store...go check out! Live learn teach I'm out!

I'm AdDiCtEd

I figured this would be an easy begin to my blog life.  I'm ADDICTED to Pinterest!!  I love love love it!!  I can't stop, it's like it calls my name.  I have never been super efficient, but good gracious it is my ultimate time consuming activity!!  I can't get enough.  I am so bad I do really wish it had a warning pop up that would let me know that I have in fact already pinned this pin!  Ha...anybody with me!  :)

Figuring everything out

Okay, I realize most of you have lived in BLOG land for quite some time now and everything comes mighty easy to you...THAT IS NOT THE CASE FOR ME!  :)  It is pure crazy trying to make a decision about names, backgrounds, colors, etc.  Hopefully now I have everything up and running pretty well (I think)!  lOVING lIFE!

Taking a chance in the blogging world!

Here goes my best!  I am taking a chance in the big wide world of blogging!  I have been following lots of blogs for a while now and have always wanted to take my own stab at it, but I guess you could say I've been afraid, busy, uninteresting, scared would be a few of my top reasons.  I love to read blogs and see what others are doing in their classroom or their life for that matter.  I have gotten so many great ideas just from people sharing their experiences and knowledge.  Hopefully I can add to that wonderful world in my own spunky way.  :)  Anyways I know no one will be reading this...maybe ever, but welcome to my own little side of the world!
